Nebraska Minimum Car Insurance Requirements
In Nebraska, liability car insurance is mandatory for all drivers. Liability insurance covers only the other car and/or that car’s driver and passengers when you are found at fault for the accident. Your liability insurance minimums for Nebraska are:
- $25,000 bodily injury liability to one person in an accident
- $50,000 bodily injury liability to two or more people per accident
- $25,000 property damage liability per accident
In addition to liability insurance, Nebraska also requires insurance companies to include uninsured motorist coverage. This added layer of protection covers you if you’re involved with a driver who has no car insurance. The minimum insurance requirements for uninsured motorists are as follows:
- $25,000 bodily injury per person
- $50,000 bodily injury per accident
While minimum car insurance requirements in Nebraska are predefined, they are not meant to be a cap on how much coverage you can or should get. You may personally opt for more coverage to protect your financial assets and your vehicle and/or passengers.
